Sana is one of my absolute favourite anime characters. Why? Read on and find out.
Sana is an extremely admirable character, in my opinion. She isn't like so many other typical anime heroines who are whiny, flaky, shallow, and helpless (Miaka, for example..). She's a very capable young girl. She doesn't expect anyone to run in and 'save' her every five minutes. She handles things herself, which is a lot more than I can say for most anime heroines.
Sana is a very kind-hearted and selfless. She always thinks of others before herself. Whenever she sees anyone in need, she does her best to help in any way she can. Rei-kun and Hayama, for example. Sana is also very forgiving; she never holds a grudge. Even when her leg was broken by Naozumi's fans, she forgave them.
Throughout the series Sana becomes quite famous, but she never lets it go to her head. She's very down to earth about her celebrity status. Sana is an extremely hard-worker. When she is offered lots of commercials and interviews all at the same time, she doesn't just pick one, she does them *all*. Even if she's dead-tired, she still does her best.
Sana may not be the brightest girl in the world, but she certainly isn't stupid. Not many eleven year olds have a full time career on top of school. Sana is constantly doing commercials, interviews, and photo shoots at the same time. It's no wonder she's not at the top of the class. At times she may be a bit dense, but she just has so many things on the go *all* the time that often times she's too busy to think!
To top it all off, Sana is extremely funny. If you've seen any of Kodocha, I'm sure you'll agree with me. See the insanity section for more details. She acts like she's on crack half of the time, but it never seems to get annoying.
Sana is a great character. I don't think I've ever come across someone who didn't like her. :) She is definitely my all time favourite character!
