+ Hayama Akito
Hayama and Sana definitely did not hit it off immediately. The two began their relationship as enemies, when Hayama turned their grade 6 class into chaos by blackmailing two teachers. However, this soon changed. When Sana realized how bad Hayama's life at home was, she took it upon herself to change things. Somehow the tv movie she made got through to Hayama's family, and as a result his life got a whole lot better. For this, I think Hayama is eternally grateful.
As time passes, the two become closer. (I won't discuss exactly how close - see the love section.) Even though the two of them are complete opposites, somehow they find comfort in eachother. Sana herself even admits that she feels calm when she's around Hayama. He can admit things to her that he can't to anyone else, such as when his father is ill. Hayama is the only one Sana feels that she can let down her guard around, and drop the genki attitude. She can cry with him.
When you feel like crying.. come to me.
I think Sana ends up depending on Hayama more than she realizes. When she thinks she *can't* go to Hayama to cry, she gets quite upset. Even though the two of them may argue a great deal, when it comes down to it, they are the best of friends. They have quite a unique friendship.. and even more than that!
+ Matsui Fuka
Fuka and Sana met in the bathroom on their first day of middle school and instantly became best friends. It was almost odd that they proclaimed themselves best friends so quickly. Their personalities are quite alike, and apparently they look the same too. (I don't see it.. @.@) Fuka seems to do better in school than Sana, and she is quite talented at gymnastics. Poor Sana - even though she's a star, she feels untalented and useless next to Fuka. ^^;
The two of them seem to get along quite well until Sana leaves for the mountains and Fuka begins dating Hayama. Nothing is ever quite the same between them afterward. Sana doesn't blame Fuka, and can't bring herself to dislike her, even though she's with Hayama. In short, Fuka's relationship with Hayama ruins the relationship she and Sana had. But.. that's life, ne?
+ Kamura Naozumi
Sana and Naozumi share the same background. They were both abandoned as babies, and even lived together at the same orphanage at one point. They "meet" again when *spoiler* (see the secrets page). They are finally introduced to eachother during one of Sana's many commercials shoots. After that commercial, they begin working together on more and more projects, which inherently drives them closer.
Sana and Naozumi become quite good friends through their work, although Naozumi feels something more than friendship. He cares for her a great deal and is constantly worrying about her. He can't stand to see her upset. Sana doesn't tend to worry about him much, but she *does* care for him, and is constantly making him laugh.
+ Sasaki Tsuyoshi
Like several others, Tsuyoshi used to love Sana. However, he got over his infatuation with her fairly quickly, and the two became great friends. Even though they aren't the closest friends, they still worry and look out for eachother. Sana is quite worried about Tsuyoshi when his parents get a divorce, and does everything she can to help him out. Tsuyoshi often worries about Sana, most often about her relationship with Hayama. He tends to butt his nose in sometimes, in an attempt to help. His efforts usually don't work out, but he means well.
+ Sugita Aya
Aya was Sana's best female friend during elementary school. She cares for Sana more than her other friends, Hisae and co. When Sana forgets Hisae's birthday, the girls are quick to shun her. Aya feels incredibly bad, and can't stand to treat Sana that way. After she becomes Tsuyoshi's girlfriend, she and Sana grow apart somewhat. She and Tsuyoshi are virtually inseperable, and Sana becomes closer to Hayama. Even so, Aya is a very supportive friend, and continues to be throughout the series.
+ Hisae & co.
Hisae and the others are Sana's group of friends. Sana isn't really close with any of them, with the exception of Aya. She's so busy with work that she doesn't really have the time for many close friendships. They have a typical elementary school relationship. They get mad when Sana misses Hisae's birthday party, but are quick to forgive her. They often use Sana's status as a celebrity to meet other famous people, but she doesn't seem to mind.
